An objective analysis resulting in a list of the most recognized novels published in the English language from 1918 - 1990, a starting-point for readers to approach a well-read status.
Dear Fellow Reader,
According to a Jenkins Group survey, 42% of college graduates will never read another book. 1 Despite this sad truth, I share with many a desire to be well-read and a particular interest in novels. Novels entertain us while stimulating our thoughts and imagination to teach us about the positive and negative and ultimately build intellect.
I value all types of novels but consistent with the general public I have a tendency to read bestsellers
printed in the past 10 years. Although this reading is constructive and entertaining, to achieve a wellread status, classic novels should be read first. A classic is a novel that timelessly relates to life and humanity and is respected by a large number of people and qualified authorities. They provide the perfect foundation for a well-read status.
As a result, I performed an analysis to construct a reliable list of classic novels to read as a starting-point to approach a well-read status. I hope the result of the analysis is as functional and interesting to everyone as it is to me.
Thanks for considering my effort.
Reading novels is an important exercise. Exploring novels stimulates our thoughts, broadens our vision, expands our knowledge and enhances our ability to communicate. Unfortunately, reading demands time that is limited to the average individual. As a result, it is important that reading is practiced constructively.
The obstacle to constructive reading is the overwhelming selection of novels. Additionally, there is no reliable source for novel recommendations. Sales numbers are not available for individual titles. Awards, top novel and bestseller lists have limitations and inclusion is granted by biased sources.
To address the problem, I decided to objectively compose a list of the most recognized novels published in the English language from 1918 - 1990, as a starting-point for readers to approach a well-read status.
The most objective approach, scope and presentation were utilized.
